I too have a hard time believing in this. I have pursued similar claims in the past, and know that for me, the technique had a price to pay elsewhere. But I've always attributed to my specific makeup. I brought this topic here to see if other people have opinions and experiences they might discuss about all such approaches to learning and this on in particular? Please comment or post here!

Recognizing the Gifted and Talented

Recognizing the Gifted and Talented is a web page I found that discusses something we all perceive as less learning than natural talent. Clearly there will always be learning and experience needed to develop talent in the arts, yet it does not seem to exist on a level where anyone with simple diligence can bring to a high skill level. Somehow one needs an innate talent in order to develop it. Take a look at that page and perhaps you'll have an opinion from your own experience too.

Human Languages are one of the more complex problems for learning theory to resolve

Most people learn a native tongue in a childhood growth process that is highly effective and yet hard to duplicate in later life. After that learning another language becomes a tough task and speaking it like a native becomes extremely unlikely. It is a topic that 2nd language teachers, and experienced multi-lingual speakers have varied opinions. I have taken on 2 alternate languages in my life but consider neither very successful. Here is a web page that purports to deal with 40 different opinions: SmartLanguageLearner.com

Collaborative Learning

Collaborative Learning is a web page about the value and methods to make use of collaborative learning. For many people this is a highly effective learning environment. Our question is can it be made effective in a Travel and Learn situation. Read the page and comment on this blog if you have an opnion either way, and/or specific methods. Also let others here know, how effective and valuable this methodology is to you or those you know.
